May 21-27, 2017 marks the 57th anniversary of National Public Works Week. This week is designated to bringing awareness to the vital role of the Public Works Departments in each community. The support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient operation and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure, such as water, sewers, streets, storm water systems, lighting, public buildings, the city cemetery and the city forestry program. “The health, safety and comfort of our community greatly depends on these facilities and services”, said Macomb Mayor Michael Inman. “This week we recognize the important work of these qualified and dedicated professionals” Inman added.
Mayor Inman recognized the City of Macomb Public Works staff with a proclamation in their honor, which was presented by Macomb City Clerk, Melanie Falk.
