Downtown Renovation Grant Awarded to Macomb Arts Center

Nan Crossman, Macomb Arts Center (MAC) Executive Director, & Anne Burton, MAC Treasurer, on behalf of the Macomb Arts Center is presented with a check for $12,492.69 for the completion of renovation work at 25 East Side Square, in Macomb’s Historic Downtown Square.  The improvement project included removing and replacing the first and second floor windows.  The plywood was removed and replaced with period appropriate glass/metal panel windows exposing the original window openings on the second story of the building. The Downtown Renovation Grant program is funded through the Downtown TIF (Tax Increment Finance) District. “The Downtown Renovation Grant Program was specifically designed to incent private property owners to maintain and renovate properties in our Historic Downtown”, said Macomb Mayor Mike Inman. “We are very pleased the Macomb Arts Center took this opportunity to collaborate with the City on making these dramatic improvements to the building in our historic downtown”, Inman added.
