The City of Macomb is undergoing a major construction project to upgrade our Wastewater Treatment Facility. Construction of new high efficiency blowers, airlift pumps, air distribution lines, SCADA control system, and tertiary filtration upgrade and replacement as the Plant are financed by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. This project includes the replacement and upgrade of plant equipment that has exceeded its useful life. The total cost of the project is expected not to exceed $3 million and will be paid back over 20 years. Once complete, it will improve plant reliability and provide greater flexibility in the operation of the plant. SRF programs operates in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our valuable resources, water.
