Mission:   Downtown Development will take a leading role to encourage a collaborative spirit among our community partners in order to enhance the physical environment and interactive experience of our Historic Downtown.  To develop Historic Downtown Macomb as a community in and of itself where people want to live, shop, and enjoy life.

Vision:  City government will partner with the private sector to enhance the physical environment through investing in infrastructure and streetscape improvements, offer incentives to retain existing businesses, engage in aggressive marketing to recruit new businesses, and to encourage and aid when practical, the development of residential components so as to collectively meet the mission.

These goals will be met by filling every available space so that Historic Downtown Macomb is a mixture of thriving niche retail shops, arts and cultural events, boutiques, service sector providers, casual dining, and entertainment; all serving as a place where residents and visitors congregate, to appreciate and enjoy the outstanding quality of life Macomb has to offer.
